“ Ive been dreaming about crossing this place off of my list for the last year and today was finally that day! My son and I drove to North Carolina for vacation just to come here and try their amazing barbecue. There wasnt a thing on our trays that I didnt love. We all have things about barbecue that we love, but its nice to step outside of our own taste buds sometimes and try things a little bit different than what youre comfortable with. PROTEIN Pulled pork My sons favorite and the flavor was so good. Brisket just the right amount of smoke flavor, pepper bark, and even the lean was nice and juicy. Melts in your mouth. Bacon brisket delicious bark, and extremely flavorful and juicy. Ribs Im not big on sauced ribs So these were right up my alley. Beautiful flavoring on the outside, Wasnt falling apart off the bone, but came apart nice and smooth with every bite. Packed full of flavor. Beef rib Again that bark was on point and the meat just melted off the bone when you bit into it. Just the right amount of smoke flavor and the perfect amount of seasoning. Sausage Im usually not a big sausage fan because it typically gives me heart burn, but these didnt do that. Both were good, but the pepper munster was definitely my favorite. With each bite, you get a little explosion of flavor and cheese. Turkey again, the right amount of pepper bark, and despite the fact that it was really windy outside and by the time I tasted the turkey, the wind cooled the food down. But that still didnt stop the turkey from being delicious and very juicy. SIDES Smoked Mac and cheese A favorite of my son. Nice creamy texture and very tasty. Elote I havent eaten this much, but I really enjoyed it. Somewhat of a creamy vibe with nice little hints of lime throughout. Coleslaw never had it made this way before but enjoyed it. Im usually good with either a mayonnaise base or a vinegar based slaw so this was good in my book. Butcher block beans Nice and flavorful and even better having little chunks of brisket throughout. Loaded mashed potato salad I mean, the name says it all, it felt like a mix between potato salad and mashed potatoes. More of a mashed potato texture, but like with everything else we tasted today, I really enjoyed it. The Rueben nothing like getting a late St. Patricks Day Reuben haha. Wasnt over the top salty like some pastrami Ive tasted and the Dressing on the sandwich was like nothing Ive had before, but it was very good. The sauce probably one of my favorite sauces Ive ever tasted. Im a big vinegar fan and this was a nice marriage between sweet and vinegar. Wasnt too thick, not super runny like a lot of vinegar sauces but just enough. Banana pudding growing up around southern women, Im used to chunks of bananas and vanilla wafers in my banana pudding. They actually had crushed up Biscoff cookies at the bottom and a nice big Biscoff cookie on top. My taste buds loved it! Something about that little touch of Ginger worked well with the banana pudding. My son and I drove four hours to come and eat here. We got there two hours before they opened and had great conversations with the owner and staff. Because this is not a place we can visit often, we went all out and ordered almost everything on the menu. 172 later, was it worth it? For the experience and the memories and the food, 100 worth it. This trip was bigger than just barbecue. The barbecue was just an added bonus. Thanks, Nick and Staff for being a part of a lifelong memory for my son and I. Well see you in the morning for brisket burgers! ”
“ Off the charts good! Wish there was a sixth star, as I personally drove 4.5 hours for the brisket alone. Try the BBQ sandwich with smoked mac and cheese. Its so Dampf good so get here early! From the Phillips Farm parking lot just follow the country music and burning oak.. My one ask is that you sell tshirts next time I come! AC ”
“ Coming from Boston, we wanted some good BBQ, and thats exactly what we got! Our family of 4 ordered the Texas Trinity and it was perfect! It had brisket with burnt ends. Homemade sausage, and ribs. It came with bread, pickles, pickled onions and 3 sides we chose smoked mac n cheese, baked beans and elote street corn. Everything had so much flavor and was perfectly cooked, not at all dried out. AAA highly recommend stopping here! It was all outside eating which we enjoyed as we just came from 20 weather!! ”
“ Drove from Reidsville, NC. Cold and rainy. Got there on Thursday morning at 1115. No wait. Got 14 lb each of brisket, pulled pork and turkey. Sides were slaw, Macncheese and baked beans. Service fast, friendly 910 Brisket tender, well seasoned with great smoke ring. Could have had a little more fat cap on point. 8.510 Pulled Pork One of the best Ive had. Tender, nice bark, and well seasoned. Very good! 9.810 Turkey Well seasoned with good smoke flavor. Tender and moist. 810 Slaw Shredded cabbage. Slightly dressed. Not mayo based. Not bad, but not my favorite. 7.510 Macncheese Shells with creamy sauce. Well seasoned and good taste. 810 Baked beans A They were fantastic. Not mushyover worked. Slightly spicy with chopped brisket. Award winning! 1010 Banana Pudding Good flavor. Instead of Nilla Waffers they use biscoft cookies. Smooth custard with hint of vanilla. Not a huge amount of bananas. 810 Would definitely come back. Price was fair for the quality of food. ”
“ Ordered 155 worth of BBQ based on previous reviews and I can attest that it was worth every cent! The portions were perfect for price and there was 0 compromise in flavour. Leftovers even tasted phenomenal! Was well worth getting off a flight from Toronto and going straight to here for lunch from Raleigh Durham airport! My only suggestion is to have heavy placeholders so napkins dont go flying away on windy days. ”
“ From start to finish, everything was excellent! The portions are huge. All the meats were absolutely delish. We bought the feast and it was worth the price. The sides were coleslaw, mac and cheese, beans, and loaded potato salad. All were good. The beans were my personal favorite. The brisket burger was one of the best burgers Ive had, and I travel a lot and love my burgers! The sausage was perfectly flavored. The added touch of the bread in the feast meal was fantastic. A little hit put some of their turkey with mayo on the bread. It was awesome! The staff was very friendly and pleasant. Try the pickles they are great! We had a great couple days of bbq! Texas bbq is fabulous! Thank you to all the staff of Dampf BBQ. ”
“ Very good BBQ Ww has the Carolina Trinity and beef Ribs with Elote, Fire rosted veggies and mac and cheese. the BBQ was a bit salty for my taste however still very good. The smoky flavors were amazing. All the meats were excellent. The sides were all good howrver the elite was lacking flavor. There was a long line that moves at steady pace. If you want to experience good BBQ sit outside with music this place is perfect . ”
“ It was so good! The brisket was amazing, the ribs were fantastic, the turkey was really tasty. Loved the beans and smoked mac and cheese too. This definitely is proper Texas style BBQ. It was quite busy on Saturday. The line was somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour I believe. The only thing I would improve is the amount of available seating and maybe some music for the wait in line, but those are not a huge deal. Definitely recommended! ”
